Crisis Escalates

Richard Harrison, CNN News reports:

The terrorist video shown to all the delegates of the SFUMUN this afternoon gravely alters the direction of the conference. In the video the terrorists threatened not just the United States, but also more peculiar countries such as Sweden.

It has been feared for the past few days that the missing nuclear weapon would have dramatic consequences - this fear now seems to be realized.

The terrorists presenting themselves as members of the People's Jihad Front claimed to be responsible for the nuclear warhead that has gone missing. A professor in terrorism at SFU, however, explains that the People's Jihad Front has not previously been heard of. According to him, the threat from the group can not necessarily be trusted.

Furthermore the Pakistani government is shocked by the development of the situation. They have not changed their official position on the matter since yesterday, and do still deny that any nuclear warheads are missing.

A very alerted and well-articulated Secretary General, Jacob Lennheden, urged the SFUMUN delegates to deal with the matter immediately. According to Mr. Lennheden the issue is of such graveness that the existing English vocabulary did not suffice, and therefore fell the need to use the word seriousity. According to Mr. Lennheden this word merely expresses a greater urgency than previously possible. It will be added to the upcoming edition of the Cambridge Advanced Dictionary and Theasurus.

The video has been analysed by audio/visual experts which unanimously have concluded
that it is of a very poor quality. The man in the middle is speaking Arabic with a slight Nort-African dialect. Furthermore the experts conclude that the video has been shot in a forest, presumably in the Border Area between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the north-western part of Pakistan.

This surprises the professor in terrorism as the supposedly missing nuclear warhead disappeared from the Baluchistan province, located in the southern part of the country.

The flag featured in the background of the terrorist has great similarities with the Algerian flag. More profound observations show that the flag is not the same, but merely has the same colours and a crescent similar to that of Algeria

In the NATO Council it was suggested that Pakistan may not be willing to to cooperate with the IAEA in the future. This claim was expressed by the delegate of Norway, based on Pakistan's official reply to the IAEA's press release Friday. As mentioned, the Pakistani government maintains its position concerning the nuclear warhead, and denies the accusations from the IAEA, until a release of official reports examining the nuclear stock.
