SG Concerned with Nuclear Security

The Secretary General is very concerned with The Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s inability to locate its nuclear weapons. In the light of today agreement between USA and Russia on significant Nuclear Arms Reduction, it is of great worry to the international community that other nuclear weapons states are unable to secure their arms. Unidentified or lost nuclear weapons are one of the biggest threats to international security and must be prevented at all cost. The UN secretariat fully embrace and support the proposal put forth by the Global Zero Initiative of reaching a Nuclear Free World by 2030. Loose Nuclear Weapons can seriously jeopardize this goal.

Furthermore the Secretary General is very concerned with Iran’s reluctance to let IAEA inspectors monitor the civilian nuclear sites to prevent the construction of a nuclear bomb, and is highly concern with the recent rumors of new secret fissile material centrifuges being built. The Secretary General strongly urges all involved parties to find a peaceful solution to this issue, before it escalates out of hand.

Jacob Lennheden

Secretary General
