Jórge Gonzales, El Universal, Venezuela"Sweden and the rest of the Western World are violating
women's rights by leaving them unprotected"Highly controversial comments came from the representative of Saudi Arabia in the Human Rights Council (HRC) today. In the committee the debate of women's rights was being discussed, which were clearly not as straight-forward as previously thought by El Universal. The delegate of Saudi Arabia attacks the western world with Denmark and Sweden as main targets, that women are not being sufficiently "protected" by the society.
The controversy continues by Saudi Arabia arguing that western women are
merely being regarded as sexual objects and are not being respected. According to the delegate Saudi women should stay where their work is - in the house. It is unknown to El Universal, if any of the other delegates present in the HRC were able to utter their views on the issue - of if the female Saudi delegate dominated it all.
