Egypt to join Security Council

Anatoli Sergievsky, Pravda News

After a heated unmoderated caucus centring around the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the dais of the UN Security Council has announced that the delegate from Egypt will be joining the session around 5pm this afternoon.

This news comes in the midst of a time when some delegates on the Security Council seem concerned with the “self interest” of nations as a possible impediment to peace.

While the Security Council struggles to facilitate progress in the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, Israel complains of being “under the microscope of other nations.”

There is a strong sentiment that if substantial progress is to be made in relation to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, mutual cooperation must take a front seat to self-interest and the criticism of specific international incidents.
