A Night-cap

Alina Anghel

A night for delegates to relax from their negotiations, and that is what they did as soon as they entered the Blarney Stone. The WHO delegates when asked if they could prevent the spread of small pox responded "We got this" and said they were drawing inspiration from the Simpsons movie. Canada on the GA when asked about relations with Saudi Arabia yelled out "We cool?". Verdict: "Yeah man, we cool."

The Olympics shall not be forgotten, Canada was decked out in official Olympic gear. Egypt paid homage too, taking to the stage with a half empty pitcher Montgomery style. He raised a toast to the organizers and had a long chug before taking questions from the press.

Once the drinks got rolling Russia's true intentions came out. The Italian, German, Belgium with a British accent on exchange in Canada representing Russia (yeah!) on the General Assembly got together with the Russian delegate from the Security Council. They planned to bring back the threat of nuclear war over beers, not vodka to my personal disappointement. Canada encouraged shot-taking and our Secretary General answered questions on his six language skills all night. One of the six is Faroese. If you would like to know the remaining 5, I recommend asking.

Delegates are now back at Harbor Center in their western business attire, having perhaps woken up too early. Let's hope their heads are back into International.

  1. Correction: UAE, not Saudi Arabia.

  2. This is a slanderous lie. The Russian Federation never threatened nuclear warfare.
