Reported Cases of Smallpox in Tel Aviv, Israel

Tel Aviv, Israel

Local hospitals in Tel Aviv have reported upwards of a few hundred cases exhibiting fevers, body aches, headaches, chills, and confusion, all of which are symptoms of the smallpox virus. This is a very serious threat and SFUMUN News believes that the smallpox virus has been released in public places such as shopping malls, cinemas, and schools. Most people over the age of 30 are likely to have been vaccinated, but young people under 30 are still very susceptible to the virus.

As of now, it has been confirmed that the smallpox virus is in fact missing from the VECTOR Institute in Koltsovo, Russia and that it has been stolen by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad who have been reported to be based in Syria. Following this alarming news, the United States has again condemned the Russian Federation for their substandard security of this facility and calls for more regulations of standards in both biological and chemical facilities in Russia. The United States also wishes to see adequate protection for the state of Israel as well as immediate action against the fundamentalist group, PIJ. The Russian Federation later stated that they are determined to get back what is theirs.

Israel’s home government seeks aid from the international community with respects to preventative measures in the event that the infected people are in fact infected with smallpox.

This is a very serious matter and requires attention and action immediately.
