Russia “assures the international community”: Smallpox Issue a Non-issue

Anatoli Sergievsky, Pravda News

Regarding the recent potential compromise of the VECTOR institute, the Russian delegate to the UN Security Council has stated that Russia is capable of taking care of security within its own borders.

Russia has urged that there is no use in jumping to conclusions about the missing smallpox virus, as the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently largely unknown.

The Honorable Delegate for the Russian Federation to the UN Security Council has stated that Russia is a “peaceful, law abiding state,” and firmly believes the incident will not effect the nation’s role in the security council’s current discussions.

While Russia has faced unfounded accusations on the topic, it remains steadfast in its belief that the situation must be investigated farther before any conclusions are jumped to.
