Security Council Waivers with Indecision Over Task Force Creation

Anatoli Sergievsky, Pravda News

The Israeli and Egyptian delegates in the UN Security Council are urging the council not to move too quickly into creating an International task force which, in Egypt’s opinion, “seems rather premature.” In a discussion regarding whether the treat is worth taking seriously, the delegate from the United Kingdom suggested the S.C. “bring Hamas back here in handcuffs and chains,” reasoning that terrorists know terrorists best.

After a failed vote to expel the IPC from the room, the Russian delegate stated he would be willing to commit forces should to be “assembled and ready,” should they need to enter the Palestinian area.

Israel assures the S.C. that they have taken their own actions against the attack, and urge the council to allow the nations involved to handle the threat.

The Council is now drafting a working paper to deal with the crisis.
