VANCOUVER -- Two pairs of shoes lie on the floor of the 1947 General Assembly discussions on 11 February. Delegates from Saudi Arabia, Syria, the Arab Higher Commitee, and the All-India Muslim League excused themselves from the meeting in order to observe their daily prayers.

    Actually, it was Saudi Arabia, Syria, the Arab Higher Commitee and the All-India Muslim League. Yemen and Palestine don't exist in 1947.
